The Queen Victoria Building (QVB) is an iconic and stunning heritage listed building and occupies a full block bounded by George, Market, York and Druitt Streets. The national landmark was built in 1898 and has undergone a $48 million dollar refurbishment completed in 2009.
This prestigious shopping centre is a great example of Romanesque architecture together with St Andrews Cathedral and Sydney Town Hall. Points of interest at the QVB include the mighty centre dome, the spectacular stained glass windows, the Royal Clock which is a 6-metre timepiece and the original 19th century staircase.
The QVB stretches over four floors of pure indulgence and 13,668.87sqm with over 180 shops and boutiques from clothing, shoes and jewellery to furniture, home wares, souvenirs and antiques.
There is also a food court located on the ground floor and leads out to Pitt Street Mall, another major Sydney attraction.
